Cleatus Clinton Moore

Richard Alva and Lillian Sadie (Cochran) Moore. He was the fourth of five children, George, Herman, Chelmer, Cleatus, and Larry. Cleatus married Nadine Ruth Hutchison in St. Louis, Missouri on December 8, 1961. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2019 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, George, Herman, Chelmer, and Larry.

Surviving are his two children, Jeffrey (Connie) Moore of Mansfield, Il and Douglas (Caroline) Moore of Peoria; three grandchildren, Ashley Nicole (Gavin) Foster, Amanda Renee and Brady Allen; and one great-grandson, Jarod Foster.

Cleatus worked for Methodist Medical Center and the Corporation for 30 years where he directed and managed the Business Office, Patient Accounts, Admitting, Information Services, Telephone Communications and Information Desk. He served as President of the Quatrefoil Club, a member of Hospital Financial Managers, was a pioneer in implementing electronic billing of insurance claims and implemented early computerized Patient Care Systems. He retired in 1995. He then worked with W. Robert Cooper Associates in Medical Consulting for five years.

He served the community as a member and President of the Pleasant Valley School district with the Pleasant Valley North school building project during that tenure.

He and his brother, George, are remembered by many Moore Family relatives for their more than 25 years of family genealogy research and documentation of their ancestors, family history and stories.

He was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Peoria and served on numerous committees while promoting the welfare of his church community and enjoying the fellowship of other members.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at United Presbyterian Church with his funeral service to follow. Rev. Debra Avery will officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
