He was born April 29, 1928 in Spring Valley, IL to Maurice and Ethel (Wasserstrom) Steinberg. He married Sandra Steinberg on August 12, 1953 in Houston, TX. She survives.
Also surviving are their three children, Baila Matlin of Jerusalem, Israel, Sally (Howard) Goldstein of Baltimore, MD, and Lewis (Janet) Steinberg of Northbrook, IL.; 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Charles (Charlene) Steinberg of Spring Valley, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sidney Steinberg.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Peoria Hebrew Cemetery in West Peoria. Rabbi Eli Langsam will officiate. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements
