

Darrick was born on October 10, 1981, in Peoria to Leandrew Jackson, Jr. and Diana D. (Faucett) Jackson.
Darrick is survived by his children, Darricka “Ricky” Jackson, Darrick Jackson, Jr., De’nijya R. Williams, Dionna Smith, Dion Smith, and Martez Mcelmurry; his grandchildren, Sahni, Derrick, Damoura, Kamoura, and Zaire; his siblings, Shermaine Lee, Leandrew Jackson, Ruthy (Marcus) Loving, Duane (Wadon) Simmons, Willie (Shonte) Simmons, Jennifer Simmons, Katrina (Tirel) Gillispie, Jonathan Tidwell, Lermon Jones, and Carlton Curtis; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents, his sister, Lucretia Jackson, and his brother, Lamar Nundley.
He married Tonya S. Jackson on June 27, 2002 at the Galilee Baptist Church in Peoria, IL and they shared many happy years together. She survives.
He worked as a dishwasher at Famous Dave’s for 13 years before the restaurant closed. He loved his job and truly enjoyed his work. More recently he worked at Germantown Bar and Grill.
Darrick loved his family. His children said he was the most loving, dedicated, and supportive father and provider. He was known as a very generous and kind person.
He was a big Chicago Bulls fan and just an all-around lover of basketball. He would often watch old replays of games and still be excited to watch them like it was his first time. He also had a passion for rapping. He was gifted with recording equipment and would record his own music.
He was a member of Grace Apostolic Assembly Church in Peoria, IL.
The family has asked that any memorials be made out to the American Heart Association.
