Dixie Carol Seibel

She was born on September 14, 1938, in Ellis, Kansas, to Lawrence and Minnie (Haneke) Ashbaugh.

Dixie married Jack Seibel in 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Minnie Ashbaugh, and her siblings, Sandra, Darwin, Dwayne, and Steve.

She is survived by her husband Jack and her four children: Keith (Katie) Seibel of Jacksonville, Florida; Jacquelin (JD Lee) Furniss of Spring Bay, Illinois; Cynthia (Mark) Stahl of West Peoria, Illinois; and Darin (Kim) Seibel of Peoria, Illinois. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Lacelyn, Cory, Ethan, Nathan, Nicole, Tessa, Marissa, and Derek; and three great-grandchildren, Conor, Elliot and Lily.

Dixie raised her children and then worked selling Medicare appointments in Oklahoma. Later, she returned to Illinois and managed the Seibel Insurance office for many years. She loved to crochet and do needlepoint, enjoyed gardening, and took great joy in attending all her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities. Dixie loved spending time with her game club friends and was an avid Big 8 fan and could be heard by neighbors rooting for her teams. Dixie loved music and had a deep affection for all animals, particularly her cats or any stray cat that might happen by.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
