

Doris I. Ford, 92, of Mt. Zion, Ill. formerly of Metamora, passed away peacefully from this earth to dwell eternally with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Born May 17, 1924 in Humboldt, Neb. to Rudolph and Anna (Schultz) Wissler; she married Robert C. Ford on June 10, 1940 in Gentry, Ark. and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1987 in Peoria.
Surviving are her children, Teddy Ford of Freeburg, Ill, Robert (Cheryl) Ford of Pekin, Nicholas (Susan) Ford of Jeffersonville, Ind. Linda (Robert) Harms and Rebekah (Richard) Tomlin, both of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and her brother Richard L. Wissler of Eureka.
Also preceding in death were her son, Russell Ford; 2 daughters-in-law; 2 grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; one brother and one sister.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur and while in Peoria attended Calvary Baptist Bible Church.
She was the former owner of the Princess Café in Princeville and was a former cook at Glendale School and Illinois Central College.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Bay Cemetery.
