

She was born on April 23, 1924 in Tremont, IL to William E. and Hazel L. (Marmein) Getz.
She married Cletus E. “Clete” Manley on February 9, 1952 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, William Duane “Bud” Getz; and an infant daughter.
Elaine is survived by her children, Thomas C Manley of Morton, Patrick E (Margery) Manley of Peoria, formerly of New Jersey, Edward W (Doug MacPherson) Manley of Seattle, WA and Joanie (Michael) McDonough of Peoria; three grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
After graduating from Tremont High School, she worked for the Peoria Morning Star, Johnston Moody Motors and PARC (now EP!C).
She was devoted to her family, a friend to many and accepting of all. Elaine’s heart and home were always open. Elaine was an active member of the PARC/EP!C and Apostolic Christian LifePoints’ parent organizations for over 50 years. She has been described as “truly one of the pillars in getting services in the Peoria area for people with disabilities”. She worked tirelessly for the clients, staff and parents of those organizations.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lutheran Hillside Village and Unity Point Hospice for the excellent care she received.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. Fr. Paul Joseph Langevin will officiate. Additional visitation will be held a half hour prior to mass on Thursday at the church.
A private inurnment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
