

She was born March 14, 1924 in Nienburg, Germany to Alfred and Helene (Ernst) Linsenbarth. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Herbert, one sister Irmgard Schaufert and one nephew Wolfgang Schaufert.
Surviving are her three nephews, Jürgen Linsenbarth, Klaus-Dieter and Wilfried Schaufert, all of Germany.
Her Hotel training began in Europe at the University of Magdeburg Hotel Management School and spent her internship as Assistant to the General Manager of the famed Adlone Hotel in Berlin. She then held General Manager positions at the Au Bien Etre, LaCiotat, France and the Marshal Farms and Country Club, the Haven, England. She then traveled the world to Japan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, China, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, and Brazil prior to coming to the United States in 1959. She furthered her Hospitality Education in America at the Hotel Management School in St. Louis and attended the IBM Data Processing and Management School in Chicago, IL. She joined Jumer’s Castle Lodge in 1970 and was named Vice President in 1979 and held that position until retiring.
Erika enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, 2408 W Willow Knolls Dr, Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.
