

She was born August 25, 1928 in Brookhaven, Mississippi the daughter of Myrtis and Precious Adams Travillion.
Ernestine is survived by her daughter, Beverly (John L) Wysinger of Peoria; two grandsons, Kenneth (Trenda) Wysinger of Orlando
Florida and Anthony (Kimberly) Wysinger of Peoria; two greatgrandchildren, Jakayda and Corey; Henry Sudduth and Kattie Lee were her children of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson, Anthony Wysinger II.
Ernestine became a nurse in 1959 and worked at numerous medical facilities in the Chicago area. Last working at Billings Hospital
which is now known as the University of Chicago. She was dedicated to her profession and well respected. Ernestine worked
endlessly at maintaining her apartment building which was her second love.
She was very civic minded, working in the Woodlawn area as a member of the TWO, the Woodlawn Block Club and the NAACP.
She promoted entrepreneurship as a member of the Small Businessman's Association.
After retiring to Peoria in 1993, she collected money to purchase toys for children to be given out at the Carver Center and the
Salvation Army at Christmas time. She did this for many years until she was no longer able. Ernestine was an avid reader, stayed up on current events in the
world, loved jazz music and to travel especially with her family. Her most memorable trip was to South Africa where she went
alone and always enjoyed talking about her adventure. She will be missed for her "tell it like she saw it attitude", her humor and the love that she gave to all.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A Musical Celebration of Life will be at 3pm October 1, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Rev John Gibson
will officiate.
Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association or the United Negro College Fund.
