Frances A. Brown passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 16th due to complications of a medical procedure. She currently was a resident of Courtyard Estates of Farmington for the past 6 months. She was a lifelong resident of Peoria where she and her husband lived, worked, worshipped and raised a family for 94 and a half years.
Frances Ada Hall was born to Francis Newman and Ada May Hall on June 11, 1925. She graduated from Manual High School with high honors, and married Robert Lewis Brown on December 22, 1945. They celebrated 74 years of marriage before his death on January 14, 2020.
Frances was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria. Her faith and service were of utmost importance to her. She was an administrative assistant at N.E. Finch for 37 years, retiring in 1987. She then joined the church staff as their secretary until her loss of sight forced her to retire "for good" in 1992. In spite of that, Frances continued to volunteer at her church specifically for the "Loaves and Fish" ministry. She also was a member of Unity Point Methodist Service League for 28 years. Frances was a well read, kind hearted and very giving of herself. She was an expert seamstress, enjoyed traveling and monthly birthday lunches with the ladies, but mostly, spending time with her family. She was a remarkable woman and her smile lit up a room.
She is survived by her sisters Florence Laccinole, Kathleen "Kay" Kelsey and her brother Mark Hall; her son David (Alicia) Brown and daughter Cynthia (Kevin) McCoy; grandchildren Nichole (Travis) Thompson, Lisa (Brent) Ward, Chet (Kari) McCoy, Brett (Jessica) Brown, Tricia (Rod) Roberts, Derek Cavanaugh, Korey and Jessica Brown; 6 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed tremendously.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by her daughter Carol, three brother-in-laws and three nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:45 p.m. in Parkview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Timothy Ozment officiating. Memorials should be made to the Loaves and Fish ministry of Peoria First United Methodist Church.
The family would like to give special thanks to Laurie and Elysian Hospice and the Staff of Courtyard Estates for providing Frances with such wonderful care.
Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
