

He was born on April 27, 1948 in Bremerton, Washington to Rendall and Connie (Christian) Willis. He married Peggy Saupe on November 8, 1969 in Bartonville, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving is his daughter, Julie (Joe) Boers, grandson, Andrew (Felicia) Finch, and great-granddaughter, Maisie Finch; granddaughter, Kelly Finch, great-granddaughter, Luna Bratton; his son, Rodd (Kathy) Willis, granddaughters, Lauren Willis and Anna Willis, and grandson, Collin Willis; his brothers, Larry (Sue) Willis and Vance (Judy) Willis; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rhonda Sellers; and brother-in-law, Nelson Sellers.
Gary worked for Caterpillar for 39 years until his retirement. He was a longtime Elks Lodge #20 member, and Timberlake Club Gold Member. Gary used to enjoy running and completed three marathons, and in his later years enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, socializing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a supporter of St. Jude. Gary was a great, wonderful man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Funeral service will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11am, with a visitation to start two hours prior, at 9am. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
