

He was born on December 2, 1946 in Peoria, to John and Eleanor (Bachle) Seaman. He married Vicki Bradle on September 8, 1972 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving is his wife, Vicki of Chillicothe, his mother, Eleanor of Peoria, two children, Benjamin John “BJ” (Lisa) Seaman of Chillicothe, Lori Miller of Mossville, one brother, Bryan Seaman of Port Orange, FL, five grandchildren, Zachary, Justin, Christopher John “CJ”, Alexander James “AJ”, and Dolly and one great-grandson, Jordan.
He was an Army Veteran proudly serving his country from 1965 to 1967. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 974, working for Caterpillar Inc., in the Mossville BB Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1996. After retiring, he worked at Hoerr’s Apple Blossom Farms for 4 years. Faith was very important to Jerry, who was a lifelong Lutheran and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, camping, bird watching and pigeon racing being some of his favorite hobbies. He was most proud of all of his family, grandchildren and friends. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend anyone could ask for. "POP" is the name he most cherished.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at OSF St. Francis for all the wonderful care they gave Jerry and the family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 10 am to 12 noon, with a funeral service following the visitation at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. The Rev. John Betterman will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
