

She was born August 3, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was given for adoption at birth. She was first adopted by Clara Pike. She was later adopted by Louis Kadesky, DDS and Clara Pike Kadesky in Peoria.
Gloria married Irving Miller on October 15, 1946 and he preceded her in death November, 2004.
Surviving are her children, Susan (Dan) Bates, John (Dr. Joy) Miller and Adrienne Miller (Lisa Dempsey, wife); and two grandsons, Brian Bates and Joshua (Kelly) Miller.
She attended school in Peoria, the University of Illinois and Methodist School of Nursing.
She was active with the Cub and Girl Scouts; Thomas Jefferson PTA President; Member of Congregation Anshai Emeth Temple; three times President Temple Sisterhood; Member three times of the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods (later named Women of Reform Judaism); lifetime member of Midwest District Women of Reform Judaism; Volunteer Activity Director- Sam J. Stone B’nai B’rith Covenant Apartments; and a Gift Shop volunteer at Wildlife Prairie Park. Gloria enjoyed a lifetime of volunteerism. Her business card reads: Professional Volunteer-Domestic Engineer (housewife).
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rabbi Daniel Bogard will officiate. Burial will follow at Peoria Hebrew Cemetery, West Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Sam J. Stone B’nai B’rith Covenant Apartments or Congregation Anshai Emeth Temple.
