

He was born on July 16, 1925 in Kewanee, IL to Edward A. and Anna L (Krause) Gansch. He married Betty Causey on August 5, 1945 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Eloise Viemont and one brother, Alvin Gansch.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Gansch of Washington, three daughters, Lynda (David) Trembley of Eustis, FL; Sandi (Michael) Cliff of Washington, IL and Jacki Gansch of Columbus, OH. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Roberts of Washington, IL, Jennifer (Charly) Bauer, Julie (Christian) Campbell and Cole Kesterson all of Columbus, OH, five great grandchildren, Lauren, Emma, Greta, Annie and Dashiell; two sisters, Lucille Warner and Ruth Simpson both of Peoria and several nieces and nephews.
Doc worked for Western Union during W.W.II delivering telegrams notifying relatives of soldiers who were missing in action or presumed dead. He then worked as a printer for over 49 years at the Peoria Journal Star, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Parkview United Church of Christ and he enjoyed traveling and was known for being a die hard Chicago Cubs fan.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Parkview United Church of Christ in Peoria, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. The Rev. Stephen Barch will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
