She was born on June 12, 1923 in Pinola, Mississippi to Dulaney (Duke) and Minnie Burkett. She married Samuel McLeod in McClain, Mississippi. He preceded her in death along with her parents and her siblings, Rosie Nell Burkett, Roh Belle Burkett, Dulaney Burkett Jr., Q.B.D. Burkett, Elma Nora Burkett, James Burkett, Cinderella Martin, Johnny Burkett, Leola Longino, and Audree Ginn.
She is survived by her daughters Patti, Kimberly, and Timberly; her son Graylin (Nicol); her grandchildren Anika, Joshua, Mallory, Jeren, Bailey, Sydney, Morgan, and Hayden; her great grandchildren Najeri and Jocelyn; her sister Tressie Speights; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
