

Jim was born June 16, 1955 in Peoria to Robert and Emma (Forbes) Adams. He married Sue Walker on March 22, 1980, she preceded him in death March 24, 2018. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two daughters, Michelle Walker and Candy Adams; and one granddaughter, Zoey Adams.
Surviving are his 7 daughters, Mary Marfell, Jenny Lynn, Wendy Creson, Nancy Adams, Catrina Adams, Tammie Adams, and Emily Adams; one sister, Barbara Adams; grandchildren, Brandi, Lashley, Christopher, Nathan, Melissa, Brandon, Kodi, Katie, Makenzie, Matthew, Jordan, Logan, Michelle, Nevaeh, Lexi, and Auggie; his loving friend Myra Haas and his beloved dog Gizmo.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy and worked for VSI for over 38 years, last working in October of 2019.
Jim enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and the Peoria Rivermen. He loved coaching his daughters and granddaughter's softball teams over the last 30 years, as well as watching his grandsons compete in various sports. After retiring from coaching he was a tournament director at East Side Centre in East Peoria, while being Co-Owner of CY Sports LLC, and was also the UIC of Umpires and tournament.
Jim will be missed by everyone that knew him. He was baptized into Jesus's name and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.
A visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 5 to 7 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, social distancing will be observed. A funeral service will be Friday, June 12, 2020 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
