

East Peoria – James Earl McIntyre, 94, of East Peoria, IL passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Washington Christian Village. He was born January 18, 1922 in Monmouth, IL to Claude and Esther (Murk) McIntyre. James married Beverly Dunston on November 3, 1956. Surviving is his wife Beverly McIntyre of East Peoria, IL, his son David (Brenda) McIntyre of East Peoria, IL, four daughters: Sandra (Lonnie) Tucker of East Peoria, IL, Sharon, Diane, and Nancy, four grandchildren: Troy, Josh, Chandra, and Amanda, and five great grandchildren: Connor, Wyatt, Tucker, Katelyn, and Bennett. James was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: William, Richard, and Robert. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in Iwo Jima as a sergeant in the Company B 5th tank division as a tank commander. James and his wife Beverly owned and operated Art’s Tamales for thirty-two years. James also worked at Caterpillar Inc. for thirteen years in the parts department in East Peoria. James’s hobbies included traveling with Beverly in their motor home across the United States, bowling, boating, and fishing. He was a member of the Toast Masters, Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club, and a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am at the funeral home on Wednesday.
