He was born Oct. 20, 1951 in Peoria to Lawrence and Lucille (Curfman) Peitzmeier. He married Myra Mackey on Oct. 2, 1979 in Peoria. She survives along with three children: Chad Hamilton, Erik (Krista) Meek, Nick (Samantha) Peitzmeier, four grandchildren: Sanai, Madelyn, Colson, Jameson, and four sisters: Marilyn Enda, Barbara Ficht-Webster, Patricia (Jim) Ksycki, and Linda (Larry) Juchems.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Martha Frye.
Jim worked for Caterpillar, Inc. retiring after 30 years. Following his retirement, he owned and operated House Works by Jim.
Private services will be held with the family. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peoria South Side Mission.
