Janice L. Dobbins, 75, of Joliet, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday August 15, 2023 at Ascension Living - Villa Franciscan Place in Joliet. She was born on August 4, 1948 in Athens, Tennessee, a daughter of Albert Arnold Dobbins and Stella Pauline (Crumley) Dobbins.
Janice is survived by her brother, Eddie (Karen) Dobbins of Oak Lawn; four sisters, Lynnette (Scott) Sternberg of Tremont, Stella "Juanita" (Jerry) Gain of Chillicothe, Judy (Randy) Gruber of Metamora, and Reba "Carolyn" Dobbins of Pekin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Sharon "Patricia" Dobbins and Margaret Coyne.
She loved to listen to Southern Gospel music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band.
Janice's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. James Hawkins will officiate. Burial will take place in Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Hanna City.
