Jeanne Gladys Kilborn

She was born on February 28, 1942 in Swaledale, Iowa to Emil and Rose Jorgensen.

She married her high school sweetheart Jack, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Iowa on October 22, 1960. They were married for 59 years until Jack's passing on April 3, 2020.

Jeanne is survived by two daughters: Kris Davis of Peoria and Jackie (Rodney) Lowery of Peoria Heights, her grandchildren: Jessica (Brian) Beck of Peoria, Alex Slusser of Denver CO, Shelby Lowery (Collin, Piper & Lily) of Peoria, Brandon Lowery of Los Angeles CA; and great-grandsons: Jack & Max Beck.

She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Nora.

Jeanne was a long time volunteer at Proctor Hospital. She was also a long time member of the Peoria YMCA where she formed so many great friendships. She worked as a bookkeeper for Grayboy Kawasaki.

She was a member of Northwoods Community Church and a huge fan of the annual Christmas program there.

She was a devoted mom and grandma and nothing gave her greater joy than her family. “Gigi” was there for everything and was so very proud of all of us. Her greatest gift was her kindness. She was always the first to call on birthdays, always remembered everyone's favorite treats (so many batches of puppy chow!), and never missed any event involving her kids and grands. She was literally that lady who never met a stranger, could not help striking up a conversation with strangers every chance she could. Everywhere we went we'd have to wait while she talked to someone. We'd say did you know that lady and she'd say no, just met her.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Richard Owens Home, especially Christine. We could not have asked for better care and everyone there went above and beyond to make her last days the most comfortable possible. Memorials can be sent there.

Per her request no services will be held. Instead, she’d like it if you struck up a conversation with a stranger.
