Joan T Hill

Joan was born on October 15, 1932 in Peoria, IL to Norbert A. and Regina J. (Seipel) Bourscheidt. She married Ralph B. Hill, Jr. on June 30, 1962 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in March of 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Joan is survived by her children, Bruce (Rose) Hill of Macomb, MI, Ralph (Sharon) Hill of Bartonville, IL, Jeffrey (Barbara) Hill of East Peoria, IL, Cindy (Mark) Gregory of Indianapolis, IN and Mary (Scott) Rath of Gilbertsville, PA; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (Edward) Mowbray of Orange, CA, Helen Highfill of Mokena, IL, Ann Kelch of Edwards, IL and Carol Vogel of Peoria, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was a loving wife and mother. She worked as a waitress for Phone-a-Feast, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Bartonville and later St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Father Thomas Taylor will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Because Joan enjoyed giving back to her community, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
