John Presley Cutshaw was born on 8-12-1939 in Greenville Tennessee and passed away on 2-14-2019 in Peoria Illinois. John was married and divorced but had no children. John was preceded in death by his seven brothers and sisters, Anna Lee, Ed, Fletus, Hack, Dewey, Betty, and Virgie. He also had four nieces and nephews, all of Peoria Illinois, Vicky Patterson (Eggers), Shanita Patterson (Ogundipe-Moss), Victor Patterson Jr & Della Patterson (ex wife), and Timothy Patterson; three great nieces and nephews, Andrea, Michael and Keisha Ogundipe; and 9 great great nieces and nephews, Amiri, Jayvyn, (Andrea), Torry, McKinsey, (Michael), Trinity, CJ, Cyrow, Sydney and Taurean (Keisha).
He also leaves behind a feral cat that has adopted him (I named her “Sissy”) He just called her “Kitty Kitty”. We have grown quite fond of each other and she lets me pet her now.
John moved from Tennessee to Peoria with his sister Virgie and her husband Victor Patterson where he lived with them until he grew up. John worked at a movie theater and at a bowling alley until he was employed by Caterpillar and worked there until his retirement.
John was a quiet and soft spoken man with a good heart and he loved his family. John was very handy and liked tinkering with things and fixing them. He also enjoyed growing tomatoes. He liked cats dogs and birds. He was a big John Wayne fan and enjoyed old Westerns.

A visitation for John will be held Monday, February 18, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, 2021 N University Street, Peoria, Illinois 61604. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM, 2021 N University Street, Peoria, Illinois 61604. A burial will occur Monday, February 18, 2019 at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois.
