John Albert Lane

He was born Jan. 14, 1929 in Greenview, IL to John and Josephine (Keating) Lane. He married Virginia Webb in 1953. She passed away March 5, 2000 in Peoria. He then married Shirley Swearinger on March 31, 2001 in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Debra (Joseph) Hoelscher of Peoria, one son, Kenneth (Tammy) Lane of Morton, one step-daughter, Christine (Carl) Epperley of Roanoke, VA, eight-grandchildren: Laura, Michelle, Chad, Amy, Lindsey, Sara, Ryan, Kate, two step-grandchildren: Megan, Jason, and six great-grandsons.

John was a self-employed cabinet maker and woodworker and a union carpenter out of Local 183.

He was an avid bowler and was a member of the USBA, and a member and past league secretary of the Greater Peoria USBC. He was also a member and very active with the University United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the University United Methodist Church in Peoria. Rev. Paul Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the University United Methodist Church.
