John Stinson Will Lyons, 92, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by loving family. Born in Towie Alford, Scotland on January 10, 1934, he was the only son of the late Rev. Hugh and Mary (Will) Lyons. On March 30, 1963, he married Sandra May McPherson in Bothwell, Scotland before emigrating to Peoria in 1978.
Further surviving are his two sons, Keith (Robin) Lyons and Robin (Jonna) Lyons and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Alyssa, Adriana, and Alexandra Lyons.
John spent his career working for Caterpillar as a Director in both International Labor Relations and Compensation. After over 40 years of recognition, he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Scottish American Society serving as Chieftain for two of those years. John loved listening to music, was an avid reader, and cherished time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
