John A Venzon Sr.

He was born Sep. 12, 1932 in Peoria to Angelo and Margaret (Garino) Venzon. He first married Joanna Dunne Aug. 17, 1957 in Peoria. She passed away June 15, 1992 in Peoria. He then married Georgia Carol Little September 30, 1994 in Peoria. She survives along with six children: John (Mary) Venzon of West Peoria, Andrena (Todd) Guidi of Farmington, Stephanie (Jim) Fussner of Washington, Brad (Norma) Venzon of Mackinaw, Chad (Kerry) Little of West Peoria, and Carrie (Charlie) Miller of Mundelein, IL. He was also survived by sixteen grandchildren, four brothers: James Venzon of California, Joseph (Chris) Venzon of Washington, IL, Michael (Cathy) Venzon of Wheaton, Stephen (Kathy) Venzon of Bastrop, TX, two sisters: Mary (Nick) Irrera of East Peoria, Barbara Kenny of Peoria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, two brothers: Bob and Louie Venzon, and one grandson, Alexander Venzon.

John was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a Staff Sergeant serving from 1951 to 1955. Following his time with the military, he along with his brothers, owned and operated Venzon Heating and Air Conditioning until its closing 1987. He then became a Realtor working for Jim Maloof retiring in 2007.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Peoria Knights of Columbus, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Peoria Area Association of Realtors.

Funeral services will be Friday Oct. 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. There will be a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be 1/2 hour prior to the services on Friday at the Church.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria with Military Honors.

Memorials may be made to Easter Seals or Sophie’s Kitchen through Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
