

Karen was born on April 26, 1954 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Carl T. and Margaret R. (Hamilton) George, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Susan.
Karen is survived by her mother, her brothers; Larry, Tom (Lisa), Mike (Lisa), Carl (Lisa) & Edward; her sisters, Anne, Kathy (David), 20 nieces and nephews, 10 great niece and nephews and her beloved boxers, Eli and Paisley.
Karen graduated from Academy of Our Lady High School in Peoria, IL in 1972. She earned a bachelor in English with a double minor in Theater and Philosophy from St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota in 1976 and a JD from Southern Illinois University Law School, Carbondale, Illinois in 1980.
Karen began her career working for legal aide in Winona, Minnesota providing services to individuals and families in crisis. She moved into environmental law at National Car Rental and advanced to corporate counsel. Ultimately, Karen joined Leigh Fisher and consulted to airports across the nation and held this position until her death.
Karen had a deep love for animals and was an active member in many organization that protected vulnerable creatures all over the world. She was especially active in the American Boxer Club and found a home there with many great friends who shared her passion.
Karen was always smiling and had a tenacious drive to enjoy life. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family whom she loved so well.
Cremation rites have been entrusted with Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel.
The family will hold a private memorial service held Saturday February 10, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Boxer Charitable Foundation at abcfoundation.org.
