

She was born Jan. 27, 1950 in Chicago to Walter and Harriette (Pistanowich) Polakow. She married Joseph Hahn on April 16, 1983 in Chicago. He survives along with Katherine’s sister, Darlene Westerberg of Mesa, AZ, three sisters-in-law: Dorthea (Ken) Kubica of Hot Springs Village, AR, Mary (Larry) Bielski of Park Ridge, IL, Barbara Brown of Bethlehem, GA, five nephews: Brian (Kelly) Westerberg, Paul Kubica, Matthew (Rachel) Bielski, William (Natalie) Bielski, Jeffrey Brown, and five nieces: Julia Westerberg, Katherine Kubica, Kristine Kubica, Lynn (Jessie) Bielski-Russell, and Jennifer Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Katherine was an Office Automation Specialist for the Department of Defense in Chicago.
She was a member of the Kanosak Dog Training Club “A little bit of Alaskan gold” in Maple Park, IL.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Cancer Center on Rt. 91 in Peoria.
