She was born April 30, 1922 in Peoria to Robert and Nellie (Wick) Birkel. She married Donald Case May 14, 1948 in Peoria. He passed away Jan. 28, 2010 in Spring Valley. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Birkel, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Gregory (Teresa) Case of Spring Valley, two grandchildren: Michael (Cassandra) Case of Spring Valley, Trevor Case of Spring Valley, and one great-grandson, Johnathan Case of Creve Coeur.
Kathryn was an Assistant Underwriter for Great Central Insurance Co. for over 20 years. She was a member of the Peoria Insurance Women’s Association, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
A celebration of Kathryn’s life will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in Parkview Cemetery.
