He was born on May 24, 1954, in Peoria, to Julian and Margret (Hanley) Young. He married Debra (Higdon) Young, the love of his life, on November 2, 1979. His parents preceded him in death.
Kim is survived by: Wife - Debra Young of Dunlap, Daughter - Wakeisha Young of Peoria and her three children Kalan, Broden and Teagan, Son - Marshall Young of Galesburg. Mother-in-Law - Shirley Strasser of Pekin. Three cousins Joy, Pamela and Valerie and numerous other in-laws.
Kim worked in the financial banking industry for most of his working career up until 2006, when he went back to college. He graduated in 2008 with an Associates in medical coding. Kim finished his working career as a medical records director until retirement.
He loved his family and was known for spoiling his grandkids at every opportunity, along with his grand puppy. He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs. Kim was a "Dan Fan" (Dan Fogelberg) along with other 1970's rock and roll music and enjoyed watching their live shows and streaming concerts.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 11:00am - 3:00pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel with no services to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The South Side Mission of Peoria.
