He was born July 28, 1951 in Champaign to Bernard and Helen (Durnil) Nichols. Larry married Julie Nichols in 1992 in Groveland, she survives.
He is also survived by his brother, Francis Nichols of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Gertrude Nichols of Pekin; sister-in-law, Jill Nichols Lulay and nephew, Ryan Lulay both of Pekin.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, also father-in-law, James Nichols and niece, Hannah Lulay.
He worked at YRC, Inc. of Morton, IL.
Larry had a strong work ethic all his life. He was a semi-truck driver for more than 45 years. He excelled at his profession, earning "A Million Miles Without An Accident" awards.
Larry was loved by everyone he met. His 6'4" frame could be intimidating but his gentle personality, genuine warmth, kindness & generosity shone through to all who knew him.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
