Linda was born March 8, 1942 in Washington, D.C., to Merril and Mary Sue (Edwards) Greene. She married Henry E. Lancaster, Sr. in 1963, and later married Thomas C. Daly in 1971 in Peoria. Thomas passed away on March 19, 2013.
Linda is survived by her daughter Cathe (Chris) Kellenberger, daughter-in-law Joanne Lancaster, stepson Bill (Angie) Daly, stepson Eric (Lepa) Daly; 10 grandchildren, Trevor, Chelsea, Montana, Alex, Sarah, Abby, Chazlyn, Sidney, Joshua and Blair. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren Ivy and Roman. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Daly, son Henry E. Lancaster Jr., stepson Tom Daly and her two sisters Carolyn Waters and Elizabeth Ann Potter.
Linda’s parents passed away by the time she was 8 years old and she was then raised by her sister Carolyn. She grew up in Cliffside, North Carolina. She graduated from Rutherford Hospital School of Nursing in Rutherford, NC, in 1963. Linda worked as a Registered Nurse for 44 years, retiring from Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, IL in 1993. She then worked as an office nurse for Dr. Lorin Whitaker, Jr., and Dr. Denise Mammolito for 12 years retiring in 2005.
Linda was an active member of Bradley Epworth Church in Peoria, IL for over 45 years. Missions was her passion, and she made several mission trips to Chimbote, Peru to spread the word of Jesus Christ. For many years she was the chairperson of the missions committee. In her earlier years at the church she helped with Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Heartland Emmaus Community, and made walk #9, in 2001.
Her funeral will be at her church, on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019 at 11 a.m. Reverend Thomas Eckhardt will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
