Born January 13, 1933 in Peoria to Hugh and Julia (Keime) Muir; she married Otis D. Whitby on May 17, 1953 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death along with her parents and brother, Herb Muir.
Surviving are her children, Mark (Debra) Whitby of Peoria, Mike (Diana) Whitby of Streamwood, IL and Michele Whitby of Peoria; grandsons, Hunter and Samuel Whitby and Matthew Peppers; and great grandsons, Elias and Jaxstyn Peppers.
Lois was formerly an office manager with the former Gateway Freight Lines in East Peoria, IL.
She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and was ecstatic when they won the World Series in 2016.
Lois absolutely adored her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Barry Long will officiate.
