Lorraine Berg

Lorraine Berg, 89, of Peoria, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Peoria. She was born in Peoria on February 5, 1927 to Lawrence and Irene (Jones) Kuhn.

She married Harold W. Berg on January 25, 1945 in Peoria. Lorraine is survived by her husband, Harold, with whom she celebrated 71 years of marriage this year, her children, Todd (Martha) Berg of Roscoe, IL, Tami (Pat) Grady of Davenport, IA, Brad Berg of Peoria, grandchildren, Melissa (Adam) Garcia of Villa Park, IL, Michael Berg of Neenah, WI, Austin Berg of Chesapeake, VA, Brandon Berg of Bloomington, IL and Kelsey Berg of Bloomington, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Turbett.

Lorraine graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria and following her marriage, she and Harold moved to Bloomington, IL where they lived, worked and raised their family. Lorraine worked as office manager for Kurt’s Autobody of Bloomington retiring after 37 years.

Lorraine and Harold were active in a number of shrine activities and events and she was First Lady when Harold was Potentate of Peoria’s Mohammed Temple. She and Harold were avid boaters and enjoyed spending years boating with family and friends on the Illinois River. They were members of the Peoria Boat Club and the IVY Club. She loved her family, friends and beloved family pets. They will all dearly miss her.

Lorraine was a member of First Federated Church of Peoria.

Services for Lorraine will take place at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, Peoria, IL where visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 1 from noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service and graveside services in Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Peoria Humane Society.
