Mariam Louise Fischer

She was born Nov. 28, 1931 in Peoria to Floyd and Mable (Simmons) Gann. She married Roland “Ron” Fischer in Peoria on July 29, 1950. He passed away August 14, 2011 in Peoria. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Ross) Wear, one great-grandson, Nathan Pennington, and one brother, Leon Gann.

Survivors include one son, Larry (Rebecca) Fischer of West Lafayette, IN, two granddaughters: Julie (Corey) Pennington of East Peoria, Jodi (Jared) Kerstiens of Zionsville, IN, one grandson, Brad (Ashley) Fischer of West Lafayette, IN, and six great-grandchildren: Luke, Isaac, Olivia, Norah, Asher, and Graham.

Mariam was a Bookkeeper and Treasurer of the Dunlap School District for over 20 years retiring in the late 1980’s.

She was a lifelong and very active member of Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria. She was an avid Bradley basketball fan, enjoyed traveling, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
