She was born July 16, 1939 in Peoria to Edd Lee and Gloria C (Carter) Jones, they preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Endrika Edmonds.
Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters, Atasa (Jeffery) Summerville and Andreon (Joe) Long both of Peoria, two granddaughters, Jentura and Alana Summerville both of Indianapolis, IN and numerous cousins.
Marva was an accomplished musician who played in several area bands including the Volcanoes, of which she was the last surviving member and Marva and soul progressives. She was a singer, songwriter and recording artist active from 1956 to 2010. In addition to her musical talents she was also an ordained Minister and presided over several weddings.
A funeral service will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Samuel Duren will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Parkview Mausoleum in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
