Mary Elizabeth Brooks, age 77, of Peoria, was surrounded by love with her sister, Helen and niece Christine when she took her final breath on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 10:19 P.M. at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born September 25, 1946 in Peoria to Elmer and Betty (Kepple) Spengler. She married Roger Brooks, Sr on June 6, 1964 in Pekin. He passed away October 12, 2020 in Peoria. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Roger Brooks, Jr, two brothers: Bill and John Spengler, and two sisters: Margaret Murphy and Kathie Steffen.
Survivors include one son, Brian Brooks of Texas, several grandchildren including Ally Brooks, Sara Gama (the daughter she never had), two sisters: Helen Diaz of Peoria, Josephine Cramer of Peoria, several nieces, nephews including Christine Kettering and Bill (Jen) Kettering, and her best friend, Connie Terrill of Bunker Hill, MO.
Mary worked for Eureka Vacuum Cleaners in Bloomington for several years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
