Mrs. Mary Kay Robinson

Dunlap, IL- Mary Katherine Robinson, age 77 of Dunlap, passed away at 7:40 A.M. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at her residence.The daughter of John T. and Marie Iliff Freeland, Mary Kay was raised in Hoopeston, IL. She married Gene C. Robinson on January 30, 1954 in Hoopeston.Mary Kay earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Bradley University and her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. Mary Kay was employed by Maloof Realty as a realtor prior to her retirement. Prior to working as a realtor, Mary Kay was a registered nurse educator at Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing and was Director of Staff Development at Methodist Medical Center.She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the Creve Coeur Club of Peoria, the Bradley Alumni Association, River City Athletic Club and a former member of Mt. Hawley and Arrowhead Country Clubs.Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Gene of fifty-five years, her children: John T. (Missy) Robinson of Decatur, IL, Katharine (Kent) Francis of Dunlap and Carol (Patrick) Kearney of Tallahassee, FL, her eight grandchildren, her sister, Elizabeth (Bruce) Rattenbury of Chicago, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Roseanne Malloy and Frances Williams and a brother, Anthony Freeland.Mary Kay enjoyed her family and friends, bridge, golf (She was especially proud of her 2 Holes in One), traveling and the arts.A Funeral Mass for Mary Kay will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 31, 2009 at St. Jude Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Lee officiating.Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30 at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday. Cremation will be accorded following the services.
