

Peoria, IL– Neil D. Beasley, 84, of Peoria, formerly of Canton, Chillicothe and Lakeland, FL passed away and went to his heavenly home at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born Jan. 25, 1928 in Canton, IL to Neil F. and Mary G. (Hall) Beasley. He married Mary L. Moose on Aug. 17, 1949 in Auburn, NY. She preceded him in death in Oct. of 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald. Surviving are three children, Deb Nelson and Cindy Clark both of Peoria, Dave (Mavis) Beasley of Honolulu, HI; three grandchildren, Kevin Nelson, Kyle (Melissa) Clark, Becky (DJ) Satchfield; two great-granddaughters, Lexi and Caylee Satchfield; and one sister, Pat Brush. Neil was a US Army Air Force Veteran. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 34 years before retiring as Senior Design Engineer. He was a member of Rome Baptist Church in Rome, IL where he was a Deacon and active in other church activities. He was also a member of the Toast Masters International in Canton, IL. Neil was an avid sketch artist and liked to write poems, some of which were published in the local paper. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services will be at 11a.m. Saturday at Rome Baptist Church in Rome, IL with Rev. Philip Taylor, his grandson, Kyle Clark and Rev. Bill Carter officiating. Family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
