

He was born July 26, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to H. Dean and Hilma (Von Behren) Weede. He married Jane E. Morton in 1962 in Bettendorf, Iowa. She survives of Peoria.
Also surviving are his sons, David (Kathleen) Weede of Geneva, Illinois, Daniel (Tina) Weede of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dean (Christine) Weede of Arlington Heights, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jake, Cole, Megan, Alex, Rob, Kayla and Alyssa; two brothers, Gary (Jan) Weede and Roger (Pat) Weede and his sister, Donna (Wayne) Perkins.
Nick worked for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, as a manager retiring after 35 years of service.
Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Nick has stories of his kindness, his generosity, his quirks, his jokes, his obsessions and his indomitable spirit. He was truly remarkable for his courage and cheerful attitude despite the severity of his medical problems and physical limitations. He was a unique individual who loved deeply, especially his family, who had strong beliefs and opinions and who left the world a better place.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria followed by a remembrance ceremony at 4:00 pm.
