

Nitaya Tomice Pointer, 31 of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Nitaya was born March 25, 1984 in Peoria, IL. She leaves behind her parents, Raymond (Lula) Pointer Jr of Memphis, Tenn. and Judy M. (Cooper) Pointer of Peoria; two daughters, Kinnidi J. Moore and Madisyn A. Taylor; 6 sisters, Yolanda Pointer, Angela King, Lisa Cooper, Shelanda (Albert) Nickerson, Felecia Williams all of Peoria and LaAngela Pointer of Houston, TX; one brother, Freddie "Bubs" Gardner of Peoria and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a maternal aunt. Nitaya graduated from Manual High School in 2002 and she attended Regency Beauty Institute in Peoria. She most recently worked at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at the front desk. She was an excellent hair braider and all of her clients loved her work. She was a good cook and loved a good party--and was the life of the party Nitaya had a love for animals and leaves behind 3 pets. She was full of life and had a way of making everyone she came into contact with laugh and smile but she had a mean streak lol. She had a special relationship with each and every one of her nieces and nephews and made them each feel that they were her favorite. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 16th at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with visitation two hours prior to the service. Her uncles, the Rev. Johnny Cooper and Elder Larry Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials are requested for the benefit of her children in care of Judy Pointer.
