Oscar P. Godinez, 94, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his home. Born in Peoria, on May 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Salvador and Petra (Hortega) Godinez. On September 2, 1954, he married Mae Ellen "Mazy" Manley in Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2011.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Joy) Godinez of East Peoria; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Aside from his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steven in infancy, and Ricardo Godinez; a daughter, Marsha Mear; and two siblings, Dolores and Jess.
Oscar was employed as a truck driver for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fast cars and was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
