

Patrick W. Malone, 86, of Peoria IL, passed away on Thursday July 23, 2015 at Liberty Village Manor Court in Peoria. Patrick was born in Peoria on March 21, 1929 to James G. and Ethel M. (Kerr) Malone. After attending Spalding high school, Patrick began his long career as a protector of this community, with the Peoria Fire Department. After being with the department for a year, he was called to serve not only his community, but his country, by joining the United States Army and fighting overseas in the Korean War. Patrick received a Korean Service medal, UN Service Medal, and Bronze Camp Star Medal while serving as in the Army. Once he returned home, he went back to work at the Peoria Fire Department. In May of 1957, Patrick married Janet L. Lindsey; she preceded him in death in 2008. Surviving Patrick are his three sons; Michael Malone of Peoria, James G. “Jerry” (Cathy) Malone of Peoria, and Joseph O. (Mary) Malone of Brimfield. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his two sisters; Elizabeth Bienemann and Kitty Crebs both of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his son Patrick Malone, his daughter Michelle Kallister and his sister Geraldine Alward. Patrick spent 37 years in the Peoria Fire Department. He retired as a Battalion Chief on November 27, 1987. He was a proud member of this community, and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Monday July 27 at the Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home. Services for Patrick will be held at Woolsey-Wilton on Tuesday July 28, 2015 at 1pm. Burial will be at Resurrection Mausoleum following the services. Memorial can be made in Patrick’s honor to P.A.W.S.
