

He was born April 10, 1928 in McLean, IL, the son of William and Lydia (Snow) Tackett. He married Ruby Jewel Renfrow in November 25, 1946 in McLean, IL. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2004 in Ocala, FL.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe (Diane) Tackett, and two sisters, Helen Louise Tackett and Eloise Bridgewater.
Paul is survived by three brothers, Bill (Eileen) Tackett of Morton, Don (Carolyn) Tackett of Minier and Gene (Sissy) Tackett of Lincoln; four sons, Larry (Nita) Tackett of Tacoma, WA, Mike (Melanie) Tackett of Gainesboro, TN, Rick Tackett of Armington, IL and Tim Tackett of Clinton; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren as well as his niece, Deanna (Bill) Sanders who cared for him at their home.
Paul was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and throughout his life the Bible gave him guidance and comfort which he endeavored to pass on to others. He was ever ready with a story from his childhood or a joke to lighten the mood and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike for his ability to turn any ordinary event into an entertaining story.
A memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 111 Northville Drive, Lincoln, IL. Cremation will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
