Peter Paul Donis

He was born May 30, 1924 in Madison, WI to Peter A. and Katherine (Gray) Donis. He married Mildred E. Neisen June 23, 1948 in Madison. She died in Peoria March 15, 2005.

Surviving Mr. Donis are two sons, David and Paul (Karolina) Donis, both of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Diana (William) Jones, of Sierra Vista, AZ; five grandchildren, Paula, Lauren, and Samuel Jones, and Emily Dzhinenko and Joseph Donis; and sister, Diana Finn, of Ft. Collins, CO.

In addition to his wife, a daughter, and three brothers preceded him in death.

Upon graduation from the University of Wisconsin in 1948, Pete entered Caterpillar’s College Graduate Training Program, and subsequently held various management positions in Glasgow, Scotland, Joliet, and Peoria. He was elected a Director of Caterpillar in 1981, and President and Chief Operating Officer in 1985. He retired in 1989 after forty-one years of service.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, and inurnment of ashes will be in the crypt with his deceased wife in Resurrection Mausoleum. There will be no visitation, and private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
