Phyllis J. Baum

Phyllis J. Baum age 81 of Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 6:10pm at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Lesley J. and Violet P. Eastway Frede. She married William Otto Baum in Peoria, in 1974, he preceded her in death in 1997.

Also preceding her in death are one son-in-law William Fielding, 1 brother and her mother and father.

Phyllis is survived by four daughters; Judy Fielding (and a special friend Eddie McCoy) of Peoria, IL, Debbie Charlson (and a special friend Steve Cardinal) of Peoria, IL, Carol (Willie) Barnett of Peoria, IL, Cheryl Smith of Peoria, IL, one son; Greg (Rosemary) Charlson of Peoria, IL, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and her beloved Chihuahua Daisy Boo Boo.

Phyllis was a devoted Christian. She retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 32 years of service at the age of 56. Phyllis was an avid reader and after moving into Courtyard Estates donated over a hundred books to their library.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the Methodist Hospice group for all of their help and caring at this special time.

The visitation will be on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 11am until 1pm. Cremation rites have been accorded. Following the visitation the family will be receiving friends at Phyllis’ daughter’s home located at 1917 Newman Parkway, Peoria, IL 61604. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Methodist Hospice.
