

He was born on August 14, 1941, in St. Louis, MO, to Elmer L. and Alice E. (Dickinson) Johnson. He married Katherine Brooks on May 26, 1963, in Fayette, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are their two children, Roberta (Ed) Stergar and Robert (Evonne) Johnson, Jr.; five grandchildren, Jessica (Chris) Capati, Sarah Dimond, Abigail Dimond, Alexander Johnson, and Kyra (Alex Blalock) Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Noah; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy; and a brother, Richard Johnson.
Bob worked for Komatsu Mining Systems and retired in 2000. Previously he was employed with Valmont Industries. Following earning his Eagle Scout, Bob started his career with Boy Scouts of America. He later volunteered, served as a board member, and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap, where he was active in their Endowment Committee and men's club. He served as a volunteer fireman and elected official for the Village of Channahon. Bob also volunteered at the Wildlife Prairie Park where he drove the train for 10 years.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church in Dunlap.
