

He was born Nov. 4, 1933 in Peoria to Robert V. and Catherine (Hunt) Lyon. He married Kathleen Hagemann May 5, 1962 in Peoria. She passed away May 20, 2001 in Washington, IL. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, James D. Schraeder, and one brother, Milton Schraeder.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Jim) Martin of Washington, two grandchildren; Jared and Jordan Martin both of Washington, three sisters; Susan Widmer of Washington, Donna (Paul) Curry of Mossville, Eva Daily of Indianapolis, IN, three brothers; Edward (Eileen) Schraeder of Peoria, Tom (Cheryl) Schraeder of Mahomet, Richard Schraeder of Peoria, and one sister-in-law, Debra Schraeder of Peoria.
Robert was a very proud Korean War Marine veteran. He was a Die Maker at Keystone Steel and Wire Co. for 34 years. He was currently a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was a past member of St. Boniface Parish Council, past member of St. Ann’s Pastoral Council, was a Eucharistic Minister for St. Ann’s and O.S.F. Pastoral Care Dept, Past Coordinator for St. Ann’s R.C.I.A. Program, was a K.C member, St. Jude’s Council-4333 (3rd Degree), past recipient of the Peoria Diocese Pere Marquette Award- 2003, Peoria Diocese leadership award- 1996, and was an active volunteer for OSF Hospice Program.
A Funeral Mass will be Thursday July 12, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. A Prayer Service will be 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday at St. Ann’s Church.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria with Military Rites.
Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church or to the OSF Hospice Program.
