

He was born April 10, 1930, in Pekin, Ill., to Jesse and Lena Mae (Herrman) Seelye. He first married Delores Lawson, who passed away in 2000. He later married Marilyn Joyce Mannon on Aug. 13, 2001, in Covington, Iowa. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Ellen (Randy Fitschen) Seelye of Creve Coeur, Ill.; one stepdaughter, Sherry Reed of Washburn, Ill.; one stepson, John W. (Cheryl) Lucas of Canton, Ill.; two sisters, Joyce (Cliff) Hamilton of Brimfield, Ill., and Darlene Smith of Canton, Ill.; one brother, Charles (Delma) Woodley of Glasford, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Nancy Pomeroy; and one daughter-in-law, Gloria Lawson.
He was preceded in death by three stepsons, Harold E. Lawson, John R. McRoy and James Seelye; two stepdaughters, Juanita Case and Clara Seelye; and a brother, Delbert Seelye.
Bob was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Brimfield Post # 452. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Canton and attended Assembly of God Church in Cuba, Ill.
He retired from International Harvester, where he worked for many years while driving part time for Star Delivery on the weekends.
Bob was an avid NASCAR fan, following only the Ford drivers.
By request of Bob himself, he would like everyone attending his visitation and/or funeral to be in casual dress. He did not want anyone dressed up in a suit.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Andy Fayffe will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
