Robert Leo Smith

Robert was born on September 18, 1932 in Peoria, the son of Leo & Alta Haney Smith. He married Marilyn Farr on June 29, 1958 in Peoria.

Left to honor his memory include his wife of 54 years; two sons, Daniel (Cheryl) of Elgin, Texas, and Timothy Paul Smith of Washington, IL; one daughter, Deborah (Kelly) Crooks of Davenport, IA; three grandchildren, Donald Smith, Derek Crooks, and Neal Crooks; one sister Mary Maberry of Bollingbrook, IL.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Robert was an Army veteran, and a graduate of Woodruff High School and Bradley University.

He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Morton as a staff engineer in the parts division, retiring in 1987 after 37 years.

He greatly enjoyed volunteering at church, gardening, camping, and especially fishing.

The family would like to thank Kyle's Home Care of Pekin and Methodist Hospice Services for their exceptional care.

Funeral services will be at 1100 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Peoria. Rev. Steven P. Tibbetts will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
