Ronald was born February 26, 1946 in Peoria, the son of Carl and Irene Yorton Roos. He married Guydeen Beckwith on April 17, 1965 in Peoria, IL.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years; his children, Kelly (Kim) Roos of Germantown Hills, Kurt (Carly Bohart) Roos of W. Peoria, Roni Roos of Washington; Eleven grandchildren, Rebekah, Ben, Abagail, Aaron, Lila, Leyton, Lilah, Xander, Alyx, Matthew, and Lucy; four brothers, Carl “Bub” (Kay) Roos of W Peoria, Terry (Lynn) Roos of Peoria, Richard (Sue) Roos of W Peoria, and Dan (Becky) Roos of W Peoria.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sandy, two grandchildren, and step-father, Jim Vance.
Ronald was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
Ron was a man of few words, but was an immensely generous and loving father and grandparent whose selfless actions spoke with a greater volume than any words could have. Over the course of his full, successful life he was a dedicated employee of Caterpillar ( 50 years) , he ran marathons, and took joy in swimming with his grandchildren and spoiling them at every opportunity. He was happiest when laboring in the yard, mowing and gardening, and frequently came up with fictitious reasons for going outside to work. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers, especially playing golf, and in recent years, “going to the boat” (Paradice). He cashed in his final chips last Thursday evening surrounded by his brothers, sisters-in-law, wife, and children. He will be truly missed.
