Ronald Andrew Swan, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, June 23, 2024 at home in Peoria, Illinois. Ron was born November 22, 1966 in Joliet, Illinois to Richard & Ruthann Swan. He was the second oldest of six siblings, Rick Swan (Tina Webb), Rene Fields (Craig Fields), Ryan Swan (Jysuy Swan), Rachel Swan (Jose Arevalo) and Robin Denis (Diego Denis); sister-in-law, Karen Lovell; and brother-in-law, Kenny Roberts.
Ron was a Woodruff High School graduate, class of 1984. He graduated from Illinois Central College with an Associates Degree.
Ron married his high school sweetheart, Kineta Ann Roberts in 1987 and had two children, Kaléna Noelle Swan and Jarod Grey Swan and his daughter-in-law, Gabriel Maria Swan.
Ron would do anything for Kineta – Whatever her heart desired. If she wanted to go “chase the moon” by golly that’s what they would do. He would share his food with her, he would play any and all card or board games with her. Mom would ask to have a bonfire and dad would go get it started. Kineta was “his woman” and he would give her the universe in a heartbeat.
He was a devoted husband and an incredible father. Even fulfilling the father figure in many other people’s lives.
He was an incredible man, always putting others before himself. Always exploring for more knowledge as well as going with the flow of life. Laughter followed him wherever he went and that passed along to all that knew him.
His passion was writing. Creativity overflowed from him. He had a sea of journals that were full of knowledge and humor. With that, he published two exceptional novels. He also wrote many poems and several children’s short stories.
Ron worked at Caterpillar in Morton, IL for over 25 years. He was a dedicated and loyal employee and always knew the right time to “ring the bell” in meetings. He had an amazing talent to create and embodied the true essence of a leader.
Ron was the man to rise to any occasion with the utmost joy and sincerity. When we say he cared… He cared with all his heart. He was the one cracking all of the jokes and was always the life and bright light of the party.
Every Sunday he looked forward to playing Disc Golf with his brother Rick, as well as enjoying their coffee time. He looked forward to his weekend calls with his parents trying to “Make America Great Again.” Ron loved everyone that he encountered, always bestowed hope into all and provided perspective outside the box. He was the type of person to make you think; all the while making it all worth the journey.
Ronald leaves behind many memories that will last a lifetime, from his unconditional love and selfless character, bringing smiles that could go for miles.
Ron's visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. His funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 also at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
